Oakwood Earns Sixth Gold Competency – Messaging

Oakwood Earns Sixth Gold Competency – Messaging

Oakwood Systems Group announces that it has earned its sixth Gold Competency from Microsoft, in Messaging.  Microsoft competencies showcase the company's capabilities in specific areas of technology knowledge, with Gold being the highest level attainable.  Each Gold Competency requires a minimum of four professionals with relevant Microsoft certification, and a minimum of five competency-specific Microsoft references.

Previous Awards

Oakwood's other five Gold Competencies are in Management & Virtualization, Business Intelligence, Collaboration & Content, Midmarket Solutions, and Server Platform.  Additionally, Oakwood has earned Silver Competencies in Application Development, Application Integration, Data Platform, Devices & Deployment (formerly Desktop), Identity & Access, and Project & Portfolio Management.

About The Credential Process

The intent of the Microsoft competency program is to credentialize Microsoft partners in their delivery capabilities in specific areas of the Microsoft technology stack, specifically to indicate deep areas of expertise as evidenced by meeting the competency requirements.  In addition, attaining competencies at the Gold and Silver levels qualifies Oakwood to deliver certain Microsoft engagements, including Deployment Planning Services, which are a Software Assurance benefit as part of an organization's Microsoft licensing agreement.

Gold Competency Conclusion

According to Bob Nawrocki, Oakwood's VP of Infrastructure Technology Solutions, “Attaining the Gold Competency in Messaging is a testament to the depth and breadth of our experience and knowledge of Microsoft Exchange as well as Microsoft Lync.  Our team has been fully utilized working with clients to upgrade Exchange to the most current levels, implementing IM and Presence, and, in many cases, moving email to the cloud.  We are very proud of this accomplishment and what it indicates to the market about our capabilities.”
